Samsung looking to launch an All Touch Android Phone for Sprint and T-Mobile in ’09

That’s right everybody, it looks like Samsung is going to pick up Android and run with it, to the US !!!

They are looking for a Q2 ’09 launch of an Android based phone, with minimal buttons, under Sprint and T-Mobile.  Apparently, the touch-screen phone is rumored to follow the likes of the Instinct and Omnia.  There aren’t too many details at this time.

ETNews said Sprint "is predicted to select a full touch screen phone for a form factor of its Google phone, the one that it adapted to Omnia and Instinct.  The Google phone will feature the Google Map based location information service, messenger G-Talk, the G-mail application, and Google Search."

An official of Samsung Electronics said, “We are accelerating the development process for Google phone in order to meet the specific need of local carriers.  We will be able to release Google phone in the second quarter of the next year in the US market."

It will be exciting to see what Samsung comes up with.

Hopefully,  they produce a version of an "iPhonesque" G1.

A slim phone with a touchscreen in beautiful high res, with other nice features, like maybe a high res camera, stereo bluetooth..?

But, we will have to wait a few months to see for ourselves, until then we can only hope for the best, and keep our ears open.
