Google Adds G1 and iPhone Option to Adwords

Adwords Ads Will Be Targeted To Full HTML Capable Smartphones

Google's mobile ads team announced that webmasters can now choose to display adwords ads that target T-Mobile G1 (and iPhone) users. The difference from the traditional mobile ads option is the capability to show  actual desktop style text and image ads to mobile browsers using a phone that is capable of displaying full HTML. The new option will also allow the ads to point to standard landing pages (no need to create special landing pages for mobile users).

I have not had a chance to use the new feature yet but Google says, "To target ads for G1 and iPhone, go to your campaign settings tab in your AdWords account. Then for the "Device Platform" option under "Networks and Bidding," select "iPhones and other mobile devices with full Internet browsers."

Now its time to get creative and figure out how to monetize through this new channel.
